Tries to start catchphrases. Amanda likes likes him. Sometimes goes full Canadian (is not Canadian). Still has hair.
Staff Barber
ABOUT: We hired Joey mostly because he was around, what with marrying our barber Amanda and all, and being stepfather to 12-year-old daughter Mia (who is a mastiff). He also has one of the finest heads of hair in the shop, AND he let us hang him from a tree and beat him with a bat that one time, which proves he has what it takes to deal with the Wildling onslaught that arrives at our doors each day.
He was a Shopkeep for some years, and, like the Beardsmith, after a time he decided to follow his wife into the barber game. After working his way through barber school, internship, and apprenticeship, he has arrived at the promised land of being one half of a pair of mom and pop staff barbers. Weird how that keeps happening around here.
Joey found himself in a delightfully unique position when he started his latest job here, however. He already knew your names, where we keep all the stuff around here, all the ins and outs of our products, and how you like to look after you get cut. He has had years of soaking up the in-shop education and the particular looks we bust out in our chairs everyday, which was a huge head start. With all that going for him, and generally being one of those likable types, he’s becoming popular rather quickly, so it may behoove you to become a regular early!
FAVORITE THINGS: In a very particular random order; being selfish, flannels, attention, shoes, hockey, hoodies, band tees, blankets, dirty f$%@ing dangles boys, big city slams (don’t tell Mrs. Kram), beanies and/or caps, fantasy football, my personal spotify playlists, jackets.
FANDOMS: Vans (shoes and vehicles), Supernatural, Letterkenny, Super Smash Bros, Fallout franchise, Birddogs, Marvel, oil-based pomade, Spotify, Marvel, Netflix, Hulu, Ethica, breakfast food, Chelsea boots, Xbox, Miller Brewing Company, hockey again.

SPECIALTIES: Joey may be a newer barber, but he has been soaking up the barberly knowledge for years now, being Barber Amanda’s husband and hanging out here working all the time. His haircuts and shaves are excellent, but beards have proven to be his particular happy place. If you want to see more of what he’s up to/know when he has chair spots to fill at Beardsgaard, follow him on Instagram.
