Now that we have your attention, welcome home nerds!
Beardsgaard has been officially open for a little over a month now and all our lives have taken a huge step in the direction of normalcy. Thank you to everyone who supported us in quarantine with your online purchases and all you wonderful people who showed up these past weeks in droves to get looking silky smooth.
We are pleased to announce that we have resumed beard services!
Please remember we still require all patrons to be masked when entering the building and any time they are out of the chair. Once your barber has suited up with their additional PPE they will instruct you to remove your mask so we can get your beard lookin tip-top.
Razor services such as head shaves, face shaves and razor finishes aren’t back on the menu quiiiiiite yet (might be Phase 5, but that is still unclear), but you will be amazed how close we can trim you without ’em.
We’ve come a long way but we aren’t out of the woods yet! In the coming months we need your help to keep the Realm and our whole community safe so it can continue to heal. As always, Beardsgaard’s rule one is; NO DYING (rule number 2, “assume there’s a dog behind you” is suspended until we can have shop dogs in again).
So to enforce rule 1, Beardsgaard is following the governor of Illinois recommendations as well as the city of Chicago’s safety guidelines for stemming the spread of virus. Before you even touch the door handle give us a call so the shopkeep can run down three important safety questions with you:
“Have you experienced any flu-like symptoms in the last 2 weeks?”
If the answer is yes we will have to ask you to reschedule for an appointment at least two weeks from the last day you experienced symptoms. There is NEVER a late cancelation fee attached to a late cancel due to illness so don’t be afraid to be honest.
“Have you interacted with anyone you know for a fact is sick?”
If the answer is yes we will have to ask you to reschedule for an appointment at least two weeks from the last day you interacted with the infected person(s.) Again there is NEVER a late cancelation fee levied in this case so please be honest.
“Have you been out of the state in the last 14 days?”
If the answer is yes, and that state is one of those listed below, we need to ask if you were out of town for “business or pleasure?” If it was pleasure you will have to reschedule. If it was business, you must be a medical professional or an essential worker traveling exclusively for business as we can assume you traveled with your company mandated PPE and maintained social distancing throughout the trip.
Here are the states (the extra toasty ones, it seems):
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
Same rules apply to anyone that’s been outside of the US, NO MATTER WHERE.
Thank you Gaardians for standing together through this; the most tedious apocalypse we could have imagined.
