Every day there are all sorts of haircuts walking out of our doors, some simple everyday cuts, and some a bit more dapper, and some where our clients let us pull out all the stops. For those who want to know what we REALLY do here.
The Service: Silver Surfer
The Barber: Tyler
The Story:
As barbers, we might be tempted to take some credit for the style of this well-coiffed gentleman. But as we often say, when you have a truly great head of hair to work with, sometimes all you gotta do is not fuck it up. And indeed, Tyler does not fuck it up.
Knowing how to surf waves and cowlicks is what makes this cut work so well. Although this head of hair is combed with the natural direction of his whorl (which you can’t see here, it’s that whirlpool cowlick at the back of your head), the front hairline has a bit that is set into the head in the opposite direction of his hair grain.
With shorter haircuts, this can occasionally be a problem, as altering the direction hair wants to go is like trying to get an uncooperative child in a car seat. It doesn’t wanna. In this case, enough length is left at the front that we get a beautiful swoop, with a lighter-colored silver dusting to really set off the features of his hair.
The haircut is a bit of a blend of an Executive Contour with a dash of Scumbag Boogie. It’s simple, easy to wear, and looks damn good on just about anybody. Styled with buttery Reuzel green Grease.
The beard is also kept simple with its bit of wave texture. Just a little neatening is all it needed.
A lot of fantastic cuts walk out of this shop, but most of the time we are on to the next client before we have a chance to take photos.
So, to actually capture these great styles (with decent lighting), we have started a roster of hair models. None are “models” for sure (although some have been a curiously Pavlovian effect on our lady followers), these Zoolanders are pulled from our existing clients.
