Every day there are all sorts of haircuts walking out of our doors, some simple everyday cuts, and some a bit more dapper, and some where our clients let us pull out all the stops. For those who want to know what we REALLY do here.
The Cut:Slickback Undercut
The Barber: Natalie
The Story:
We don’t use models for these Cut of the Week posts, but you would never know it with some of our clients. Brian is a painter and all around artist, who loves that fact that every time he comes to see us, Tom Waits seems to be on the radio.
He changes his hair up on a not infrequent basis, so this is what he came in looking for. Not that it matters what he decides to do with his style, because his hair is perfect. A dense and silky thicket of gunmetal deep grey and silver with a naturally full beard that needs little more than some slimming in the transition around the cheekbones.
Of course this was a cut from the early days of his time at Beardsgaard. He has…grown into himself a little since then.
This is a super simple cut with just enough at the back to pull it back when he is hunched over his work, which he does a lot. The only trick is putting the lines in exactly the right place for the head so the hair goes up and back, and not straight out to the sides and keeping the back overhang soft, so it doesn’t hang too thick and heavy.
A lot of fantastic cuts walk out of this shop, but most of the time we are on to the next client before we have a chance to take photos.
So, to actually capture these great styles (with decent lighting), we have started a roster of hair models. None are “models” for sure (although some have been a curiously Pavlovian effect on our lady followers), these Zoolanders are pulled from our existing clients.
