On Sunday, November 11th, Beardsgaard will be hosting a competition for Fermilab scientists and staff. But it’s more than that. It’s team building. It’s bonding. It’s making a zombie pumpkin horror movie. It’s wreaking untold levels of destruction. Think of it as group therapy. Oh yes, and you can win a year’s worth of haircuts.
We provide the farm. We provide the pumpkins. You bring the elaborate means to blow them up. Or destroy them in whatever manner you see fit.
And if your destruction is the most epic of the bunch, you win a year’s worth of free haircuts at Beardsgaard*.
Sign up below by October 31st, and read on for all the details.
So, what is the point of all this? Part of it is that making these dumb movies is just FUN and we love telling stories, but the other reason is that we love making content that shows the spirit of the businesses here in the Fox River Valley, Batavia specifically.
We went from the first year throwing together some napalm and a 5-minute video, to last year featuring green screen, special effects and a whole lot of Tannerite. Check out the previous installments in the series, and read on for a brief of the plot of this year’s epic series finale.
They Came from the Parking Lot: The First
They Came from the Parking Lot: Part Deux
They Came from the Parking Lot: Evil is Brewing
They Came from the Parking Lot: Seeds of Evil
They Came from the Parking Lot 5 (Working Title)
Part 4 was a found footage film, behind the scenes of the filming of Part 4. But then! Bum bum bum. The pumpkins that we had been pretending were zombies the last three years actually became zombies for real. Seeds of Evil ended with the Beardsgaard gang being sucked into a barn portal and dumped back out at Fermilab.
But how did the pumpkins turn into actual zombies? It was obviously the local science lab. But it wasn’t you alone. Through a trick of fate, the Beardsgaard nerds were playing a D&D game at the same time the Fermi nerds were partaking in some Halloween pumpkin-related revelry. The dice created, as they do, multiple timelines, including the Darkest Timeline, in which the pumpkins came to life for real. And then we, Beardsgaard and Fermilab, must take them down for good.
The script is currently being written, and will be finalized within one month of shooting date. But first, we need you to sign up to help us make it!
