Do you like creepy creatures that touch an exquisitely weird part of your soul? Then you need some gloom in your room.
Gloomworld, that is.
Created by Nicholas Nickelby Johnson, who originally hails from St. Charles (although he lives in NW Indiana these days) his demented little dudes had captured our hearts and eyes years ago on Instagram.
So when he was one of the first to respond to our call for featured artists and we realized we had been fanboying out over each other for some time, we knew it was a perfect fit. Perfect for both the shop and Beardsgaard Manor, because Catch and Release barely made it on the wall before Natalie and Tyler bought it.
Our seasonal Featured Artists, otherwise known as Artists by Way of Beardsgaard, display work for sale in our shop and also design something distinctly Beardsgaardian for us to make up as stickers and T-shirts.
Nick’s offering made us squee with delight upon first gazing of his terrifying visage.
We have named him Gudlaugr Thorgils the Octobarber, and he is on quite the merry little berserker rampage, wouldn’t you agree? If you would like to take him home with you, act fast. These designs are limited run, and we’re already running down on some sizes.
And speaking of acting fast, our Featured Artists are encouraged to swap out the pieces displayed for sale on our wall every so often, and Nick will be back soon to do just that.
So if there is anything you have been eyeing, you had better get it before it’s gone! You can do that either right in the shop, or on our fancy new web store, River Peak Apothecary.
