A couple of months ago, we got an email from a nice lady named Kerri. Kerri is one of the talented folks behind Industrie Online, an online magazine with a prolific knack for pumping out incredibly detailed and helpful content for hair and beauty pros. And she said they wanted to do a little story on us.
So as you might imagine, we were a bit blown away when we saw all they put together out of our talkings. We mean, we know we barbers are hard to shut up, but we’re aw shucks-ing all over the place for all the work they put into these pieces.
If you’re in the industry of hair, especially if you’re entrepreneurially-minded, make sure you follow Industrie.
Anatomie of a Barbershop

An exceptionally detailed profile all about our little barbershop, Beardsgaard Barbers, all based around Kerri & Justine’s time in the shop, and an extensive shop profile they asked us to fill out.
Does it seem like we’re experienced, confident business owners who totally know what we’re doing? Hey. What up, Jon Snow.
But that’s the secret to opening a business and making it thrive. You don’t have to know what you’re doing, just throw yourself off the cliff and see if you can fly, and if you can’t, figure it out quick. Read more detail about the behind-the-scenes madness than laymen would ever want to know.
Dragons + Razors: Natalie & Tyler Anderson

This is the one that makes us turn bright red. Natalie, at least, she generally likes her role as a gremlin skittering around the edges of the shop, keeping the machinery running seen but not heard style. But when you get us going about work, we’ll talk your ear off.
This profile was based around the conversations of a quiet Sunday afternoon down by the river. The afternoon was quiet. As you’ll see, we made it a bit loud.
What is a Niche Brand & Will it Work for You?
{clickety}
This was an unexpected but delightful article to see, all about niche branding, which we do so, so hard. It really never was our intention to create such a specific sort of barbershop, but when you just do you, a niche develops rather naturally. We’re nerdy as hell, passionate to the point of obnoxiousness, and alternatingly cantancerous/whimsical.
Our niche-ness happened by accident, but this piece tells you how to do it with purpose. Either way works, one way is far cheaper and faster.
