We made it through 2020! And while 2021 does not look to be shaping up to be less intense, we’re all old hats at this by now.
After 6 years in business, we have learned to stay nimble through all the growth and trials, and the pandemic has tested every skill set we have. The most valuable of those has proved to be the ability to keep one eye on the macro (how the business works as a whole, and one on the micro (the day to day operations).
Over the course of the last year, three of our long-time barbers had plans to move/move on to business ownership of their own, and while we are endlessly happy for and proud of them, we were left with few questions:
Are we prepared to hire and train 3 more barbers in short order? Is the breakneck pace we have all been working the last few years since we expanded our hours one we want to keep up forever? Can this place still work with fewer barbers?
After looking over the last 6 years of numbers, you know what? Woof, no, and actually yes! Because when we had a full staff on a 40 hour week, we didn’t have 5 chairs, a well-designed, fully functioning webshoppe, or a thriving second business. Now all of those are things.
So with that, Beardsgaard is back to the good old days when we had a full staff who all worked the same hours, and all the good vibes and camaraderie that comes with that sort of a schedule.
We mean, these crazy times were fun, but it was a LOT
And hence, beginning Tuesday, January 26th 2021, Beardsgaard’s hours will be thus:
- Sunday-Monday Closed
- Tuesday-Wednesday 10-6 / Closed for lunch 2-3
- Thursday-Friday 12-8 / Closed for lunch 3-4
- Saturday 9-3
