They Came from the Parking Lot sprung from a post-Halloween musing that in lieu of a simple disposal of now-smushy seasonal decorative produce, we should be “smashing pumpkins” instead. Then we made some napalm, gathered the horror movie nerds on the block, and the rest is history.
This now-yearly zombie pumpkin destructathon tradition gives us an excuse to pull out all the stops and regress to being children with adult resources to make astonishingly terrible short films.
In year 3 we have even brought in fellow weirdo businesses like Penrose Brewing Company and Freshground Roasting, along with such novelties as a script, and plot and stuff. One fella briefly in the film was even in the midst of A Very Beardsgaard Job Interview.
This year we’re screening our yearly opus at the site of the carnage, Penrose Brewing Company. Join us for beer and a screening of a truly, astonishingly terrible short film. There will be T-shirts and stickers. It will be great fun.
See the teasers for Parts I and II here, with the full ridiculosity on YouTube.
Join us for the nerddom, dweebs, and mark your calendars already for next year’s shooting date, Sunday, November 12th, 2017. It’s a mighty amalgam of skill sets that make these things happen, and anyone who wants to lend their weird/practical skills to an astonishingly dumb/fun/hilarious endeavor are more than welcome.
