Made in Bradford, England, this delicately scented shaving soap was born almost a century ago, when chemist Fred Mitchell discovered it was the lanolin in wool fat that was keeping the hands of local sheep shearers and wool sorters so unnaturally soft.
Mitchell's wool fat soap continues to use lanolin and other organic ingredients that soothe sensitive skin. This is a favorite of the barbers of Beardsgaard. It is a very hard shave soap, and while it takes a little more effort to get full lather, it's one of the most luxurious we have ever experienced.
This 4.4 oz soap, which has been broadly recommended by dermatologists to alleviate skin complaints, comes in a gorgeous ceramic bowl with a lid.
